Jason D. Weckstein is working toward his Ph.D. in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Museum of Natural Science at Louisiana State University. He earned his M.Sc. in zoology from the University of Minnesota. While his thesis research focused on anomalous patterns of genetic variation in the crowned sparrows (Zonotrichia), he also worked on a project reconstructing the phylogenetic relationships of the 4 groups of Fox Sparrows. His current research interests focus on reconstructing the coevolutionary histories of avian hosts and their parasites. Current address: Department of Biological Sciences and Museum of Natural Science, 119 Foster Hall, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA 70803-3216. E-mail: jweckst@lsu.edu.
Donald E. Kroodsma contributed to the Sounds section in this account. He received a B.A. in biology from Hope College, Holland, MI, and a Ph.D. in zoology from Oregon State University with John A. Wiens. He was a postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor at Rockefeller University with Peter Marler and is currently a Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Special interests are in the who, how, what, when, where, and why of the sounds of wrens and other passerines. Robert C. Faucett received his B.A. in biology from Colorado College and is working towards his M.Sc. in ecology and evolution at Louisiana State University where his research concerns the evolution of voice in the genus Thamnophilus (antshrikes). His general research interests lie in phylogenetic relationships and character evolution in suboscine birds and biogeography of the neotropics. He is currently the Collections Manager of Ornithology at the Burke Museum, University of Washington, where he dedicates much of his time to facilitating and participating in international collecting expeditions.
