Priorities for Future Research
Nearly all aspects of the life history of Wilson’s Plover deserve further study, especially in geographic areas other than those where research has been focused. Studies thus far have been restricted primarily to nesting ecology in Georgia and Texas in the United States, and to feeding in Central and South America. In particular, work on population status and trends throughout the range is needed.
