Measurements

Linear

Means, for males (n = 43), for females (n = 35; Palmer 1962). Bill length: males, 83.3 mm; females, 78.6 mm. Wing length: males, 259.9 mm; females, 251.2 mm. Tarsus length: males, 97.1 mm; females, 89.6 mm. Western birds reported larger, especially in Baja California (Palmer 1962).

Mass

Typical adult mass approximately 369 g ( Palmer 1962).
