Linear
See Appendix 1 . Individuals from Caribbean tend to have shorter wing, tail, and tarsus, but not culmen.
Mass
See Appendix 1 . Sexual dimorphism minimal; males average 1–5% larger than females. During breeding season in Florida, male mean = 327 ± 25 (SD) g, female mean = 289 ± 41 (SD) g (Hanners and Patton 1985). In New York during summer and fall, 1.5-yr-olds averaged 307 ± 6 (SE) g, older gulls averaged 325–348 g, depending on age (JB).
