Other
Species can be successfully propagated in captivity for variety of purposes (Mirarchi 1993d). Variety of research techniques developed for species also available (Baskett 1993b, Mirarchi 1993e). Hunting techniques and traditions used and followed in various regions of U.S. are detailed in Baskett (1993b), George (1993), and Russell (1993). Usually shot on the wing while coming to recently harvested grain fields, or those specifically prepared to attract them. In arid and semi-arid regions, hunted at natural or human-made (e.g., stacktanks) watering areas. Occasionally, full-body decoys are attached to natural loafing areas (dead trees, fences) that are near fields or water areas being hunted.
