Bruce D. Dugger is currently Mace Associate Professor of Watchable Wildlife in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Oregon State University. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in wildlife ecology at University of Missouri, Columbia. His research interests are centered on the ecology and conservation of waterbirds, particularly waterfowl, and their wetland habitats. Current emphases include winter foraging ecology, habitat use of geese and cranes and wetland seed dispersal by waterfowl. Katie M. Dugger is currently an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Oregon State University, Corvallis. She received her B.S. from the University of California, Davis and her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Katie studied the population dynamics and reproductive success of box-nesting Wood Ducks and Hooded Mergansers in se. Missouri as part of her M.S. research. Her primary research interests include the population dynamics and reproductive ecology of birds, with current emphasis on quantitative modeling of climate and habitat characteristics on the demographics of Northern Spotted Owls, Adelie Penguins and forest birds in Puerto Rico. Leigh H. Fredrickson is currently Senior Biologist with the nonprofit, Wetland Management and Educational Services, Inc. After retiring from 4 decades in an academic position, his current emphasis is on wetland and waterbird related workshops for professionals, but he maintains a strong interest in Hooded Mergansers.
